Wednesday, 23 January, 2008

The Tourism Trust Fund, (TTF) today officially handed over an accommodation site at Masinga Dam for the development of water sports tourism in Kenya.

How We Work

Enabling Environment

For the projects and marketing plans funded and supported by TTF to succeed, there is a need for the creation of an enabling environment for tourism development within Kenya.

Over its long history, the Kenyan tourism sector has shown itself to be adaptable, capable and dedicated to the future of the industry.

Preservation of resources

Tourism in Kenya depends on a wide range of resources- diverse species of wildlife and natural habitats, historical sites and cultural assets, as well as basic resources such as water, transport and communications.

Marketing

Marketing is a vital ingredient to the success of tourism, and with a global market place with hundreds of destinations competing for arrivals- any marketing initiative must be strategic, well planned and researched and targeted to the best possible audience.

Planning

Tourism is a rapid revenue generator and an engine for employment creation and development- but it most be undertaken in a carefully planned and responsible way to ensure sustained long term gains.

Capacity Building

The success of any tourism project depends on the availability of resources combined with the human capital to utilize these resources.
