Marketing

Marketing is a vital ingredient to the success of tourism, and with a global market place with hundreds of destinations competing for arrivals- any marketing initiative must be strategic, well planned and researched and targeted to the best possible audience.

For a developing world destination, carrying out cost effective marketing is a genuine challenge.

At a destination level, we fund and support national campaigns and initiatives that are strategically researched and planned, and carried out in individual markets in partnership with local professionals, with each campaign designed for each specific market.

For some examples of destination marketing plans funded by TTF  click here.

One of our most successful international campaigns was the Tourism Market Recovery Plan (TMRP) carried out in response to the crisis brought about by the terrorist incidents on the Kenya coast in 2002. For a full case study, click here

For individual tourist projects, marketing presents specific problems to overcome, particularly for communities with limited finances and limited access to creative resources, technology and business advice.

TTF supports the development of practical targeted marketing initiatives to promote community based and eco-tourism initiatives.
